Proud Words Outta Nashville
This Saturday in Nashville SEC football arrives for Alabama against some cocky Commodores. I must confess when I read the "You're next" threat by Vandy to 'Bama, I thought that it was surprising how smart Vanderbilt students misspelled "Your next". So, no they didn't mean Vandy would be "Your Next Opponent To Be Defeated." After I got my head around that the Black & Gold guys were _warning_ Alabama, it still seemed pretty inane. Taunting big kids rarely ends well.
Now, don't misunderstand. Vanderbilt has beaten Alabama. In humilating fashion. For Homecoming. In 1984. And even baby rattlesnakes can kill you, so lets urge the Tide to not enter into the fray with a predetermined win on their minds. No, no. Coach wouldn't like that. However, it is time to straighten up and fly right on defense. Offense, keep up the good work but step it up a wee bit. Coach will like that. Last Saturday Vanderbilt scored a surprise win over Kansas State after which Vanderbilt students were chanting, “WE WANT BAMA. WE WANT BAMA.” Hmm, they must mean one of the fine BAMA brand food products (Best.Grape.Jelly.Ever.) Got a gut feeling they won't want Bama so much after the game Saturday.
