Honestly, I try to be objective when I write these things. It’s almost impossible but I try. By the end of the third quarter I had pretty much convinced myself that the Tide did not belong in the inaugural college football playoff. They just simply are not that good. That’s what I was thinking.
The last 47 seconds of the four quarter changed my mind. At least it had me going oh my God. Then they took care of business when they got the ball in overtime. Strange plays and weird formations, but in the end a simple fade pass won the game. LSU’s inexplicable play calling in their overtime passion helped. Honestly, they didn’t need a touchdown all they needed was a first down. But hey, I didn’t call the plays and the Tide’s defensive backs played lights out on the last three passes.
Alabama is now 8-1 and they get the rest of the games at home where they play way better than on the road. These guys have heart. I was a doubter tonight. They made a believer out of me. Man oh man, what a game and what a huge win!
