February 22, 2010Nice turn aroundThe softball team had a great trip to the Hatter Invitational tournament in Florida. They turned a poor performance in Tuscaloosa around and appear to be coming together as a team. That’s great and we can now look forward to the season without too much trepidation.Or can we? It was too early to push the panic button after the debacle against Missouri. It is probably still too early to get comfortable with this team. Youth is both a blessing and a curse. The new players have a boat load of talent, but not much experience. Playing in Florida helped, it took them away from home and gave them some much needed experience against good competition and they came through. I got the feeling that Ohio State felt they could have won if they had all of their lineup intact. Then again who knows, maybe sour grapes? The Tide comes back to Alabama to play UAB In Birmingham in their brand new stadium. This is always a good trip. The Tide generally prevails but the Blazers would love to take out the Crimson Tide while they are still young and vulnerable. What a great way to open the new softball complex. The Tide on the other hand would love to spoil the party. UAB handled USA better than the Alabama did so this could get interesting. Then again, I want to think that these girls are on a roll now. So we’ll see. I look for the girls to come back from south side with a win. Roll Tide Fox
