I finally did it

You know – been there done that, got the tee shirt. Well maybe that was it. I just wanted the moment to last a long time. It was a long time coming and now we have a long wait before we get to see them play again. Yeah, ESPN will probably show the spring game. There’s the whole recruiting thing. But it’s just not the same. I gotta get a life and get over this stuff.

I got this email from a cousin today. There was an orange and blue tee shirt that said “I’m wearing this Auburn shirt because I went to Auburn. You’re wearing that Bama shirt because you went to Walmart.” Yeah, well first of all, my cousin went to UAB. The other thing that struck me was I’ve been to Auburn they have trailer parks, but you know I don’t remember if they have a Walmart. You might have to go to Opelika.

It strikes me that just about any SEC team, with the possible exception of Vandy would have trouble with rocks and glass houses if you get my drift. It was still kinda funny. I reckon we’ll have to get used to this kind of stuff again. Remember the UAT thing. Oh well, I can live with it.

You know why? Last time I checked we were the BCS, AP, USA Today, Sporting News and the Eufaula Tribune number one Division I, Football Bowl Subdivision college football team in the US of A. I reckon the only vote we didn’t get was in Idaho. I can live with that too.

In case you are wondering I got the gray one with the crystal football like the guys got in Pasadena. It somehow seemed right. Anyway as you get into those winter sports just remember basketball might get better but it doesn’t look to be this year. The gymnastics team is gonna be good and then there’s softball!
